Afrobeats legend Reminisce 'Baba Hafusa' says World Cup was rigged for Messi
Afrobeats star Reminisce claimed that the World Cup in Qatar was scripted in Lionel Messi's and Argentina’s favour.
The rapper, who also sings and acts, is an avid football fan and is outspoken about his support for Manchester United and Cristiano Ronaldo in the GOAT debate.
His loyalty to the Al Nassr star was laid bare publicly once more, as he denied the validity of Argentina’s third Mundial, as he believes it was rigged for the Inter Miami star, who is Ronaldo’s rival.
What Reminisce said
‘Baba Afusa', as he is also known, was speaking on the Zero Conditions podcast as part of the press run for his new album Alaye To Se Go Go (ATSG Vol. 1), where, other than music, he discussed his other passion, football.
Like former Netherlands boss Louis Van Gaal, Reminisce is also of the sentiment that Messi winning the World Cup was predetermined, as the circumstances that led to his triumph were, in his opinion, contentious.
"World Cup yen, it was a well-written script,” he said on the podcast. Speaking in Yoruba, Reminisce also claimed that the MLS was set to be rigged in the Argentine’s favour, but destiny had other plans.
Lionel Messi's eighth Ballon d'Or continues to be a source of controversy, with many believing Erling Haaland was more deserving and one of such people is Nigerian rapper Reminisce.
