Equatorial Guinea has taken control of Group A after a remarkable performance against Guinea-Bissau in their second match at the AFCON 2023.

Emilio Nsue was the star of the show as the Nzaland Nacional demolished Guinea-Bissau 4-2 to register their first win of the tournament on Thursday evening.

34-year-old set two records in a breathtaking performance from the excellent Equatorial Guinea’s Nzaland Nacional.

Nsue opened the scoring in the 21st minute before adding two more goals in the second half to complete his remarkable display.

He becomes the first player to score a hattrick at AFCON in 15 years, with Soufiane Alloudi achieving the last feat in 2008. 

Nsue’s hat-trick also means he is the oldest, at 34 years and 110 days old, to score three goals in AFCON history.
