AFC Leopards Top Official Spits Venom On Critics In Fiery Attack Over Mismanagement
AFC Leopards chairman Bonface Ambani has launched a scathing attack on critics and detractors he accuses of frustrating efforts to revive the club’s dwindling fortunes.
In an emotionally charged statement, Ambani defended his leadership while exposing years of alleged mismanagement and corruption that have plagued the Kenyan Premier League giants.

The fiery chairman, who was elected in June 2025, painted a grim picture of the state in which he found the club, citing debts, court cases, and neglect of players and staff.
According to Ambani, those who benefited from the club’s struggles have now turned against his administration, using “pseudo accounts” to intimidate him.
“While they were chewing this club silently, because you had tamed them you were all quiet. When they were calling it Ing’ombe ya Senje, you never asked questions, because, they belonged to a plate you shared,” Ambani fumed in his lengthy statement on Facebook.
The former Young Africans (Yanga) striker spared no words as he listed a litany of past injustices against the team. From unpaid player allowances to wrongful termination of contracts that resulted in costly court battles, Ambani said the club’s loyal supporters were betrayed by those entrusted with leadership.
He went on to question deals signed for training grounds and criticized the handling of gate collections, claiming that money meant for the club was funneled into personal accounts.
“When you were paying gate collections to individual Mpesa accounts, you were so silent and happy about it, coz your plates were full,” he said.
“When the club left debts all over this country, starting from hotel bills, office rent etc., you never asked those tough questions.”
Cleaning Up the Mess
Ambani noted that since assuming office, his team had made significant strides in stabilizing operations, clearing debts, and restoring discipline.
“Only four months in office, we have been able to sort out most of those messes and bring back sanity in this club,” Ambani said.
“Players being subjected to sleeping in lodgings before a match wasn’t anything to behold — you just watched.”
The former Tusker FC man revealed that the club had inherited negative bank accounts and numerous legal liabilities but remained optimistic about steering the team back to stability.
“From inheriting negative accounts to trying to stabilize the club of AFC Leopards’ magnitude, you think it’s easy? Let me assure you one thing — the way I am dealing with the mess left behind, I will not allow you to joke around,” he warned.
Faith in the New Leadership
Ambani expressed full confidence in his leadership team, singling out Secretary General Isaac Mulindi, Treasurer Newton Lime, and CEO Namai for their commitment to rebuilding the club.
“Last but not least, I have a very, very competent NEC — Secretary General Mulindi and Treasurer Lime, not forgetting CEO Namai. We shall continue to fix Ingwe. No relenting,” he declared.
Ambani assured supporters that the club’s best days lie ahead, promising that AFC Leopards will soon reclaim its lost pride.
“Tulieni… AFC will unleash its claws very soon. It’s walking stealthily… We are sharpening those claws,” he concluded.
