AFC Leopards reveal record amount raised from well-attended clash against Shabana FC
AFC Leopards collected the biggest amount from ticket sales so far this season when they netted over Ksh1.4 million during Sunday’s Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) clash against Shabana FC at the Ulinzi Complex.--
In what was another frustrating day for Ingwe fans, Tom Juma’s men could only manage a 1-1 draw when Peter 'Maestro' Ogechi's bullet header canceled out Brian Yakhama's early penalty, to extend their winless run to five league games.
A total of 6,152 tickets were sold for the match which saw the Ulinzi Complex full to the brim with 653 VIP tickets sold while 5,499 supporters snapped up the regular ones.
With the VIP ticket retailing at Ksh500, while regular going for Ksh200, Ingwe collected Ksh1,426,300, a big boost to the club’s coffers.

We hosted Shabana FC on Sunday at Ulinzi Sports Complex in a match we fully went digital on ticketing .

Leopards were helped by the fact that the match had huge interest with both teams enjoying massive support, leading to the big turnout.
The amount is seven times more than what Leopards raised from their last home match against Muhoroni Youth when only Ksh217,900 was realised from 1,028 fans who attended the match at Kasarani Stadium on September 16.
Leopards have so far collected Ksh2,259,900 from their three home matches this season, having banked Ksh615,700 from their league opener against FC Talanta at Nyayo Stadium on August 27.
However, the amount raised at Ulinzi Complex could have been higher had a section of Ingwe fans not forced their way into the stadium after being impatient over the club’s E-ticketing platform which was implemented for the first time on Sunday.

Thank you all for that wonderful turnout yesterday
Thanks to everyone who embraced E-Ticketing
We do it again this Saturday in the #MashemejiDerby at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani #Betika #OursForever #INGWE pic.twitter.com/Ur4av4Ob8I
“Shabana fans accessed the stadium in an organised manner unlike a section of our fans who were very impatient, warranting the security to restore order. We have, however, picked lessons from this first experience and reassure you that E-ticketing shall be smooth in the coming matches,” Leopards said in a statement on Monday.
Leopards host bitter rivals Gor Mahia in the Mashemeji derby this weekend and the club plans to stick by the E-ticketing platform for the match set to take place at Kasarani Stadium.
