‘Advantage Manchester United’ — Fans rejoice as Maguire is ruled out of Bayern Munich trip
Manchester United have been blighted by numerous injuries which have left their squad threadbare, but fans have still heralded reports of defender Harry Maguire’s injury as good news.
Maguire to miss Bayern Munich tie
Maguire is set to miss the Red Devils’ trip to the Allianz Arena to face Bayern Munich in the first match of the new UEFA Champions League season, but fans of the club are more overjoyed than worried about his potential absence.
The England international has come under immense criticism from fans and pundits alike after a number of questionable performances in recent times and has cut an unpopular figure at Old Trafford after refusing to leave the club in the summer for West Ham.
It is on the backdrop of this that most fans have grievances with Maguire and have celebrated his absence, even though it means that the Red Devils will only have Jonny Evans as back-up to Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof when they visit Bayern Munich.
Fans rejoice at Maguire's expense
Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag disclosed that Maguire had suffered an injury in the team’s final training session before departing for Munich, and some fans of the club believe that the Red Devils stand a better chance against Bayern Munich with Maguire injured than fit.
Fans of the Red Devils swarmed the defender's injury announcement with more ill wishes for the centreback and congratulated their team on having a chance against Bayern Munich.

Others were also happy that Maguire was injured, but for different reasons, as they saw this as an opportunity for critics of the English centre-back to see that he was not the cause of the club’s on-going struggles.
It’s good , when they concede the 7th goal they won’t blame him 👍

Great. Another game where Lindelof and Martinez will get gangbanged but the whole fanbase will erase out of their memories because none of them are Maguire. https://t.co/GausGgaMQ1

Good. They won't blame him for 8-0. Justice for Maguire. https://t.co/K3lVfFT0oW

Maguire has played only one match for Manchester United this season, coming on during the Red Devils’ 3-1 loss to Arsenal, where he was also blamed for his sides capitulation since they conceded two goals after he was brought on.
