6 damning STATs that define the NPFL Super 6
Matchday three at the ongoing NPFL Super 6 Playoffs delivered little to no excitement for fans who arrived at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena with plenty of expectations.
After three match days, here are some of the damning stats from the NPFL Super 6 playoffs so far.
NPFL Super 6: The Stats
3 - Highest draws
There were a total of three matches played on day three but all three ended in disappointing stalemates.
It’s the most draws recorded so far in the competition and the day ended with defending champions Rivers United and Lobi Stars playing out a barren draw.
9 - Number of matches played
With six teams battling for honours in Lagos, a total of nine (9) matches have been played so far across three matches at the mini-league.
2 - The Number of wins so far
Yes, you read that right! Only two wins have registered been from nine matches played.
Champions, Rivers United, and their neighbours from Aba, Enyimba, are the only teams to have won at least a game at the NPFL Super 6.
4 - The number of goals scored on MD 3
With three matches and three draws, it comes as no surprise that matchday three has produced the fewest number of goals so far.
The six teams were only able to score four goals in three matches which is an average of just over 1.3 goals per game.
Matchday two remains the most entertaining with seven goals scored in three matches, an average of over 2.3 goals per game while the opening day served an average of over 1.67 goals.
5 - The most goals scored and conceded
Ikenne-based Remo Stars have been involved in two of the most entertaining matches so far after back-to-back 2-2 draws.
The Sky Blues, therefore, have scored the most goals (5) and conceded the most (5) in the NPFL Super 6 Playoffs. Remo are also without a win in Lagos.
1 - Number Team yet to score
While they are called the Pride of Benue, Lobi Stars have nothing to be proud of so far at the Super 6.
Lobi are the only team yet to score a single of at the competition and it’s little wonder that they sit comfortably at the bottom of the table.
