Jamaican sprint great Usain Bolt has offered his mother a big assurance as she comes to terms with the demise of the legendary athlete’s dad Wellesley Bolt.

Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt has pledged to play a big role in the life of his mother now that his father is no longer there.

Bolt lost his dad Wellesley Bolt at the end of March with his funeral service conducted last Sunday and now, his mother Jennifer Bolt is beginning a new life as a widow.

However, the 100m and 200m world record holder is keen to ensure that his mother does not just feel lonely but also doesn’t miss out on anything that she might want during this new phase of her life.

“Mom I got you,” Bolt posted on social media on Tuesday, affirming his commitment to support her.

The assurance comes after the eight-time Olympics champion had said the same during his dad’s funeral service, pledging to do whatever he can to fill the void left by Wellesley Bolt.

“Mom, just know that I’m here for you—fully. I’m not your husband, but I’m your child. You’re going to see more of me now than ever,” Bolt said at the service as quoted by Sportsmax.

Bolt has been close with his parents with his father playing the disciplinarian role to ensure he did not stray and also took his athletics career seriously while his mother offered him a shoulder to cry on whenever he faced difficulties.

Now is the turn for the legendary sprinter to repay the favour as his mother goes through a painful time dealing with the death of her husband.
