Benni McCarthy has named his starting line up for Harambee Stars' must-win clash over the Gambia at the Kasarani Stadium.
Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy has unveiled a bold and attacking line-up to face The Gambia in today’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
In goal, Byrne Omondi gets his place between the sticks following impressive displays at the 2024 African Nations Championships (CHAN) on home soil.
The South African has opted to start both Ronney Onyango and Abud Omar as fullbacks, with Collins Sichenje partnering Sylvester Owino at center back.
In midfield, Richard Odada will start as the lone number six, with Duke Abuya and Timothy Ouma taking up the twin eight roles. William Lenkupae and Emmanuel Osoro will start on the flanks, tasked to drift infield to support Michael Olunga as much as possible.
On the bench, McCarthy has depth at his disposal with Faruk Shikhalo, Brian Bwire, Alphonce Omija, Kibwage, Lewis Bandi, Manzur Okwaro, Alpha Onyango, Marvine Nabwire, Ben Stanley, Ryan Ogam, Job Ochieng, and Bonface Muchiri all available to make an impact if needed.
Kick-off is set for 4:00 PM EAT at Kasarani, where the Harambee Stars will be banking on home support to outshine a spirited Gambian side chasing its first win in the qualifiers.
