The midfielder limped off during their 1-0 loss to Tusker in the FKF Cup semi-final.

Ulinzi Stars have been handed a major boost as pacey winger Boniface Muchiri has returned to full training and is fit for selection in their remaining games of the season.

Muchiri limped off early in the second half of their 1-0 loss to his former employers Tusker FC, meaning there was little he could do to help his side get to the final of the FKF Cup.

Speaking after the Kenya Police FC game, assistant manager Vincent Otieno - who was stepping in for the ill head coach Bernard Mwalala - said that Muchiri missed the match because he was being rested.

“He is improving. He did not train (last week) and we decided to give him active rest. He is a key player but we did not want to worsen his injury by forcing him to play.

“At the end of the day, you are not helping him because you would be messing and aggravating his injury. We decided to let him rest. We have squad depth, so we have coped fine.”

Muchiri has been integral to Ulinzi's attack this season. He has scored 11 goals and registered 16 assists in all competitions as the Soldiers got to the FKF semi-final.

He will be needed as Ulinzi attempt to finish as high up the table as possible as well as achieve a third-place finish in the FKF Cup.
