Ulinzi were beaten 2-0 by Gor Mahia with both goals being conceded in the opening ten minutes.

Ulinzi Stars assistant coach Abdallah Dalo Mohammed believes his side will bounce back from their patchy run of form after they were taken apart 2-0 by Gor Mahia in their league encounter played at the Kasarani Stadium on Sunday.

The Soldiers conceded both goals in the first 10 minutes and Dalo says the coaching staff had prepared the team to avoid such a situation, but their words fell on deaf ears.

“We knew Gor Mahia usually try to score early goals but we did not heed the warning. We made mistakes, two very costly mistakes which cost us, bending the game in their favor,” Dalo said.

The assistant coach, however, believes there is nothing to worry about considering the fact that his key players, such as Boniface Muchiri and Staphod Odhiambo are injured.

“I am not worried at all because I have many players in the first team that are injured which has played massively to our disadvantage over the last few games, especially considering we have been playing many big games.

“We are on a bad run of form and unlucky but we can turn it around in order to play well.”

Quizzed about whether his squad players were lacking quality, Dalo said: “I can't put it down to a lack of quality but rather a lack of experience.

“When you are out for a while, your level goes down, and I think we are to blame as coaches, but now that we have given the squad players the opportunity, they have to show it. Generally, the whole game was good apart from the two very avoidable mistakes we made.”

Ulinzi Stars are ninth on 45 points with two matches left to play.
