Shabana FC lost to Ulinzi Stars FC, Bandari drew with Kariobangi Sharks, and KCB registered a disappointing result against struggling Muhoroni Youth.

Shabana FC dropped crucial points in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League after losing 1-0 against Ulinzi Stars FC at the Raila Odinga Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Kisii-based side failed to collect maximum points in their second game under recently appointed head coach Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo after beating Nzoia 5-2 last week.

Shabana are sitting 17th on the log with 17 points after winning four games, drawing five while losing 10 times in 19 games played in the league.

Ulinzi Stars were quick off the blocks, and they grabbed an early goal when a ball from new signing Leshan Mootian fell to the experienced forward Masita Masuta, who completed a beautiful finish.

Shabana had a chance to find an equaliser but Ezekiah Omuri' shot was fantastically saved by a diving Michael Wanyika.

This proved to be lone Tore Bobe’s shots on target in the first half as most of their goal-bound shots were blocked with the visitors putting their bodies on the line. Brian Michira was afforded space and time to shoot from inside the Soldiers' box, but Alex Masinde blocked his attempt and Prince Ayeko’s low shot from the area hit Glenn Wafula's back.

Pamzo was forced to make a change in the 34th minute, taking off rusty Lamela Maneno for Benard Onyando.

Ulinzi looked dangerous on the counterattack with Mark Bikokwa and Issah Lumumba using their explosive speed in the wings. However, Mootian and Bikokwa could not keep their shots on target after connecting with crosses from the wide areas failing to seriously test keeper Mustapha Oduor in the hosts' goal-posts.

The last chance of the first half fell for George Onyango  after he had pushed forward while operating as a center-back in the absence of Aloro Rodgers. The defender was superbly denied by Wanyika and the score was 1-0 during the half-time break in the favour of the visitors.

Tore Bobe came back rejuvenated following their half-time team talk with coach Pamzo  and they threatened first through Ezekiah Omuri. The Junior Stars winger turned brilliantly inside the visitors’ box, but he failed to keep his attempt on target.

Ulinzi Stars allowed the hosts  more space as they attacked, but Vincent Naybuto  failed to hit the target from a well-struck shot at goal.

A few minutes later,  Shabana fouled Javan Omondi and Shannel Makwatta’s efforts from a set piece were saved when Mustafa Oduor  produced a double save.

Shabana introduced Mutua Wycliffe and Tegisi  Mathew as the Tore Bobe  looked to change the complexion of the game and find an equalizer. Tegisi cut inside from the right hand and he unleashed a rasping shot which was brilliantly tipped over the crossbar by Michael Wanyika.

With Ulinzi's defense looking solid and compact, Shabana resorted to crosses and long-range shots. Omuri  also had his attempt from range saved by Wanyika in the closing proceedings as the Soldiers registered their sixth win of the season.

Bandari 2-2 Kariobangi Sharks

Bandari FC and Kariobangi Sharks  played out a highly-entertaining 2-2 draw in their FKF Premier League  clash at a baking hot Mbaraki Grounds in Mombasa.

The result sees the Dockers remain in fourth  place on 31 points, twelve adrift of log leaders Gor Mahia, while the Sharks are with 19 points and just one point above the red zone.

The hosts threatened first through their Ugandan striker Umaru Kasumba who tested Sharks goalkeeper Sepstianos Wekesa.

The former APS Bomet shot-stopper made a decent save to deny the Dockers marksman three  minutes into the encounter.

Sharks  also looked dangerous every time they pushed forward and they  finally broke the deadlock in the sixth minute through Patrick Ngunyi.

Geoffrey Onyango lifted a cross into the area which was met by  Eric Mmata only for Bandari goalkeeper Joseph Ochuka to spill it to Ngunyi's path for the opener.

Hassan Abdallah then threatened twice for the hosts, shooting narrowly over the crossbar from range in the 12th minute before dragging an effort wide of the near post from inside the six-yard box on the right on 24 minutes in search for an equalizer.

At the half-an-hour mark the experienced winger's curling long-range shot hit the crossbar, with Sharks goalkeeper Wekesa well beaten.

However, the parity was restored by the homeside at the stroke of halftime following a mistake from Kariobangi Sharks defense. William Wadri's corner was  connected by Adrew Juma for Umaru  Kasumba to finish it off to ensure the game was level at 1-1 heading into the halftime break.

Bandari made a double change at the start of the second stanza, introducing Mohamed Barisa and Shasiri Nahimana , and they tested Wekesa  early on with a free kick from Michael  Apudo which was well saved.

The hosts continued to build pressure, pulling more saves out of the Sharks ‘keeper and also hitting the crossbar, while Kariobangi’s attacking ambitions were mostly reduced to sporadic counter attacks.

Despite this, the Slum Boys side neatly went ahead in the 65th minute through substitute Fortune Omotto, but he was denied by a five save from Ochuka.

Ten minutes later, though, and the home side did take the lead as an over-hit ball was worked back into the danger area for Nahimana to send it past the goalkeeper and head his side in front, 2-1.

In the 82nd minute, Wasambo managed to beat Ochuka  and made it 2-2 with a beautiful strike and ensured the thrilling encounter remained an open affair.

Bandari ended the game on the front foot and Wekesa was called into action late on as both teams ultimately settled for a point apiece.

KCB 0-0 Muhoroni Youth

KCB and Muhoroni  played to a goalless draw in an  FKF Premier League game at Thika Municipal Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Both sides failed to capitalize on their opportunities in a scrappy encounter in Thika, a town located more than 52 kilometers from the capital Nairobi, in a game characterized by poor finishing.
