Tore Bobe have made changes in the technical bench following a string of underwhelming performances in the FKF Premier League.

Shabana FC has officially announced the departure of head coach Sammy Okoth following a string of underwhelming performances in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.

The decision was confirmed through a team statement on Monday evening after a comprehensive meeting with the club management.

Okoth's tenure at Shabana has seen the team participate in ten Premier League matches, recording a single win, four draws, and six losses.

This run of form prompted the club's leadership to re-evaluate their technical bench, resulting in Okoth's exit alongside goalkeeper Collins Oduor, as stated in the announcement signed by Club Chairman Jared Ombongi.

The club, which soared to the Premier League after a triumphant season in the National Super League, has found the higher competition challenging.

Despite Okoth's pivotal role in securing Shabana's promotion after over a decade, his squad's performance in the 2023-24 season has been lackluster, leaving them languishing at the bottom of the table.

"It is with mutual agreement that we have decided to part ways with our head coach, Mr Sammy Okoth, and goalkeeper trainer, Mr Collins Oduor.

As a club, we deeply value and appreciate the significant contributions and unwavering dedication they have exhibited throughout their tenure with our organization. We extend our heartfelt best wishes for their future endeavors." the club said in the statement.

The aftermath of a devastating 4-0 loss to Ulinzi Stars saw Okoth express his intention to resign, citing the need for new leadership to steer the club forward.

He briefly returned to lead training sessions the following week, indicating a possible reconsideration, but the latest developments confirm his final departure.

In light of these events, Oscar Kambona has been appointed as the interim head coach.

The club statement elaborated, "In the interim, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Oscar Kambona as the head coach while we actively engage in the search for a suitable replacement for this vital position."

The joint statement from Shabana FC highlighted the club's appreciation for the contributions of club fans and promised to change the club's fortunes.

"We wish to express our profound gratitude for your unwavering support. We remain steadfast in our commitment to our mission and are resolute in our determination to stage a strong comeback,"the statement concluded.

As Tore Bobe navigates through this transition, fans and stakeholders alike will be keenly watching the club's next moves, hopeful for a turnaround that will revive their fortunes in the demanding Premier League landscape.
