The top-tier action is set to return to the region after the club fought and secured their promotion ticket.

Former Harambee Stars forward Boniface Ambani has challenged the Mount Kenya community to rally behind Murang'a Seal after the club got promoted to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.

Although they lost the National Super League title to their 2022–23 arch-rivals, Shabana, Murang'a Seal claimed the other automatic promotion slot and will be part of the Premier League fraternity next season.

Ambani has now called on the community within which the club is domiciled to support the St. Sebastian Park-based outfit.

"Shabana's comeback will spice up the KPL. Next season, it's going to be fireworks, especially when they meet The Mulembe nation, the AFC Leopards, and the Luo nation, Gor Mahia. How those fixtures will turn out remains something to watch.

"Congratulations, Shabana and Murang'a Seals, for your qualifications. I wish you well. It's time for the Mount Kenya nation to rally behind Murang'a Seals. You guys have a club in the KPL now. It's time to rally your troops behind this club. Kila la Kheri," Ambani said in a statement.

The Mount Kenya region has not had a Premier League team in the recent past, and Murang'a Seal's promotion should be a welcome development for the football lovers there.

Initially, they had Thika United, an iconic club in the top flight, but after seasons of struggle, the club ended up getting relegated in 2018 when they were beaten by Nzoia Sugar.

Apart from Thika United, the region at times hosted Tusker, who had chosen Kinoru Stadium in Meru as their home ground. However, the league heavyweights relocated to their base at Ruaraka and denied football lovers the opportunity to taste Premier League football.

After a rather impressive campaign in the Second Division, it will be time for Murang'a Seal and, of course, Shabana to show their ability to challenge top-tier clubs in the next campaign.
