Posta Rangers coach John Kamau has vowed to fight on after a surprising 5-1 defeat to Kariobangi Sharks dents title hopes.

Posta Rangers head coach John Kamau expressed his astonishment following a shocking 5-1 defeat to Kariobangi Sharks in a recent FKF Premier League match.

Julius Masaba's double, coupled with contributions from John Makwatta, Leon Otieno, and Fortune Omotto secured a commanding victory for the Sharks casting a shadow over Rangers' campaign.

Reflecting on the match, Kamau pointed to the absence of several key players as a critical factor in his team's failure to bounce back after two consecutive losses.

"Football can be very cruel at times. Despite having key players out of the team due to injuries, we have 30 registered players. The most important thing is that we take it as it is and from there, we will have a period where we will not be having injuries. But the most important thing is that we will keep on fighting," said Kamau.

The FKF Premier League is set for a two-week hiatus from March 18th to 26th, 2024, coinciding with the FIFA international window.

Kamau views this break as an opportune moment for the team to regroup and strategize for the remainder of the season.

"We will have self-search from the technical team and players. We will have self-evaluations and time to recover mentally since we have conceded ten goals in three matches. Then, I think the most important thing is that we should recover mentally," added Kamau.

With a two weeks long break on the horizon, Kamau is optimistic about the team's chances to recollect and address their recent form.

"When we return, we have 27 points to play for. When we reassemble, we will get the ship on course," he remarked, signaling a hopeful outlook for the upcoming fixtures.

The loss leaves Posta Rangers in fifth place on the table, amassing 36 points from 24 matches this season.

Looking ahead, Rangers are slated to face relegation-threatened Shabana on April 6th marking a crucial juncture in their campaign to salvage their title aspirations.
