Kylian Mbappe has exuded confidence ahead of the clash between Paris Saint Germain and Borrusia Dortmund.

Paris Saint Germain are aiming to overturn their 1-0 defeat over Borrusia Dortmund on Tuesday night, May 7.

Kylian Mbappe has said that his side are confident they achieve this task tonight in this close tie. During their previous clash, Niclas Fullkrug’s goal gave Dortmund the advantage in the first leg last week, but Mbappe believes Paris Saint Germain has what it takes to come back and reach the final once more.

The only time PSG came close to glory was back in 2020 in the depressingly flat occasion that happened behind closed doors at the height of the pandemic in Lisbon. This loss was in the hands of Bayern who could still be their opponents in a repeat final if Bayern and PSG come out victorious in their second le fixtures.

This will definitely be a new occasion entirely as they prepare for a final that will be spectated by a crowd of 90,000 at Wembley Stadium on June 1. Getting here would give Mbappe the chance for a legendary exit at PSG as he announced his intention to leave the club in February.

Despite not performing to their level best against the German side, a repeat of what happened at the group stags when the side met will suffice. On that occasion, they were victorious over Dortmund, with their talisman Mbappe netting a brace.

The Parisians face defensive dilemmas, as they will be without Lucas Hernandez who injured his knee trying to stop Dortmund’s attacker Fullkrug. In addition, Nuno Mendes is a likely starter despite his tough time trying to defend Jordan Sancho.

Marquinhos adds to Mbappe’s big talk mentioning how strong they are at the Parc and that nothing is finished yet. PSG will only need to score more than twice to go through to the final and they will need to keep Sancho at bay who caused their defense nightmares in the first leg.

On the other hand, Dortmund need to keep the speeders silent tonight if they need to secure their second ever champions league title. This will be Marco Reus’ last chance at to be a champions league winner as he looks towards a Dortmund exit.
