However, the tactician feels the club will take some time to challenge Gor Mahia and Tusker.

Former Kenyan international Sammy ‘Pamzo' Omollo has explained why Shabana’s imminent return to the Premier League is a welcome achievement.

Tore Bobe are flying high in the National Super League (NSL) and leading their opponents by a healthy margin, which only means their promotion is imminent.

Pamzo has now stated why the Kisii-based club will be an important team in the top-tier.

"If Shabana are promoted, that is the best thing that can happen to Kenyan football," Pamzo told Pulse Sports.

"I am looking at the fanbase; they have a huge following just like AFC Leopards, and they also have a stadium.

"Every coach and every player will be hoping to play in that stadium, so I just welcome Shabana back."

In the 1980s and 1999s, Shabana were one of the teams feeding Harambee Stars alongside Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, and Tusker, then known as Breweries.

However, Shabana’s drop to the lower tier meant they lost that status, but their return, according to Pamzo, will help them regain the Harambee Stars feeder clubs tag.

"They will reach that level [of feeding Harambee Stars], and we should be aware that in Nyanza, we do not have a team in the Premier League," the former Gor Mahia defender added.

"So, they will attract good players from Nyanza (bar Wazito), which means they will be more competitive than ever."

To survive in the Premier League, the former Posta Rangers coach explained what Shabana needs to do.

"I also believe they have learned from their mistakes in playing in the lower-tier leagues, and that is why they are really fighting to come back," he continued.

"It is also about money and, of course, the management, and if they get it right, they are going to be a very good team in the Premier League."

Although Pamzo will be excited to see Shabana’s return, he does not tip them to be immediate title challengers.

"They will take time before they challenge Gor Mahia and Tusker, and this is a time frame of like two years," he concluded.

"But all in all, it is about keeping the right players, the right coach, and having their finances right.

"So many teams are struggling because they do not have finances."
