Napoli's build-up to their crucial Champions League tie against Barcelona has been rocked by a possible fine from UEFA

Reigning Serie A champions Napoli, are bracing for a substantial fine from UEFA following an incident involving club president Aurelio De Laurentiis during an interview with Matteo Politano on Sky Sports Italia.

According to reports from La Repubblica, De Laurentiis abruptly interrupted Politano's interview, accusing the Sky crew of breaching contractual agreements regarding media access to players.

Chaotic Episode with De Laurentiis

During the interview, De Laurentiis intervened unexpectedly, alleging that only specific journalists, such as Gianluca Di Marzio, were authorized to speak to Napoli players, not Massimo Ugolini, who was conducting the interview.

The Napoli president's outburst has drawn ire from UEFA, who are poised to levy a significant fine against the club for failing to adhere to contractual obligations and safeguard the value of TV rights.

Recent Media Turmoil Involving Napoli

De Laurentiis' recent actions have been characterized by increasing chaos, with this incident marking another tumultuous episode in his tenure. Previously, he protested against broadcaster DAZN ahead of Napoli's clash with Juventus, resulting in a €100,000 fine imposed by Lega Serie A.

As Napoli prepare for their crucial Champions League encounter with Barcelona, they find themselves embroiled in off-field controversies that threaten to overshadow their on-pitch pursuits.
