Noah Lyles reveals when he will make his season debut and opener in 60m.

Olympic Champion Noah Lyles has thrown track and field fans into a rude shock after revealing that he will be kicking off his season at the Radd Sports College Invitational this Weekend.

The six-time world champion will make his debut in the 60m event on January 25. The announcement was unexpected considering that the American was scheduled to face Lamont Marcell Jacobs on February 2 in Boston as a season opener.

The two Olympic champions had been scheduled to enter the 60m indoor battle at the Ralph Mann Memorial. The late sports scientist once played a vital role in Lyles' athletic development.

"Noah Lyles will be kicking off his season at the Radd Sports College Invitational this Saturday in the 60m. He’ll face off against top competitors Caleb Dean, Udodi Onwuzurike, Jerod Elcock and Israel Olatunde. All who hold sub 6.60 performances. Don’t miss the action, tune in live on FloTrack," FloTrack posted on X, formerly Twitter.

It remains to be seen whether Noah Lyles cancels the February 2 event or not but his latest move has caught many by surprise. The Olympic 200m bronze medallist has been hard at work, fine-tuning preparations ahead of another grueling season that promises thrills and entertainment in equal measure.

Lyles completed a sprint treble by winning gold medals in the 100-meter, 200-meter and 4x100-meter events at the 2023 World Championships. His personal best of 19.31 seconds in the 200m is the American record, and makes him the third fastest of all-time.
