The Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) returns this weekend with mouth-watering fixtures on Matchday 31. 

Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that the action kicked off on Friday as Heartland secured a crucial 1-0 win over Shooting Stars in Owerri, ending the Olukoya Boys' three-match unbeaten run.

NPFL Saturday Fixture: Abia Warriors vs Bayelsa United

Just one game is on the schedule for Saturday, but it promises to be an intriguing clash. Abia Warriors welcome in-form Bayelsa United to the Umuahia Township Stadium. 

The Prosperity Boys are unbeaten in their last five outings and will be aiming to extend that impressive run against the Ochendo Babes, who are desperate to return to winning ways.

Super Sunday: Title Contenders in Action

The real fireworks are reserved for Sunday, with eight matches involving the league's frontrunners taking centre stage.

Rangers International of Enugu, the NPFL leaders, face a daunting trip to the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium to take on Rivers United

The Flying Antelopes will be wary of the Pride of Rivers, who have been formidable on their home turf and are looking to catch up with the rest of the league with six games in hand.

Defending champions Enyimba are not to be outdone as they travel to the Ondo Sports Complex to lock horns with Sunshine Stars.
