Former Nigeria and Chelsea star John Obi Mikel claims to know which club in the Premier League his countryman Victor Osimhem wants to play for from next season.

Former Nigeria and Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has weighed in on the future of striker Victor Osimhem who is a target of Premier League clubs.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, is the subject of interest from Chelsea, Manchester United and even Arsenal said to be among his suitors although there have been issues over his salary demands.

The Nigerian forward continues to impress this season with 31 goals and eight assists in 36 matches for Galatasaray, who are on course to winning the Turkish league title.

With the player reportedly set to cost £40 million, there is a scramble for his signature among Premier League clubs, and Mikel now claims to know where the 25-year-old wants to play next season.

Where does Osimhen want to play in the Premier League?

Nigeria's Victor Osimhen is expected to leave Galatasaray this summer.
Nigeria's Victor Osimhen is reportedly interested in Chelsea.

“He wants to play for Chelsea,” Mikel said on beIN SPORTS on Sunday.

“I know where we are stuck in terms of the contract. I know where we are, it is an easy fix because we did all the work last summer. It is so easy to just pick it up and say the deal is on.

“This guy does what he does best, he scores goals and that is what we have lacked this season. When you look at our team Chelsea, we are one of the teams that have missed the biggest chances in the season.

“We do not score enough and that is why we are where we are today. With Osimhen, that is what he does, scores goals, he wins you trophies, he puts you in the top four.”

However, a move to Chelsea for Osimhen looks problematic as the club is reportedly not willing to meet his salary demands.

According to ESPN, the Super Eagles striker is demanding an annual salary of £9.5 million after tax, which the Blues are unwilling to pay, while the Telegraph reports that Stamford Bridge chiefs have concerns over his attitude.
