Kakamega Homeboyz have revealed what it will take for them to sell striker Moses Shumah who has finished the season as FKF Premier League top scorer.

Kakamega Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula has weighed in on transfer speculation linking striker Moses Shumah with a move away from the club.

Shumah has emerged as a key target for a number of teams in Africa, after finishing the 2024-25 FKF Premier League season as the top scorer with 17 goals, and Homeboyz have a battle on their hands to keep hold of him.

Latest reports suggest Shumah is a target for newly-crowned Zambian champions Power Dynamos who want to sign him in time for their CAF Champions League assignments next season and while Shimanyula is ready to listen to bids, he will not lose the player on the cheap.

“The price last time was Ksh10 million but now, it is Ksh15 million because he has finished the season as top scorer,” Shimanyula told Pulse Sports over the future of the 22-year-old striker.

Who Else is Interested in Moses Shumah?

Kakamega Homeboyz striker Moses Shumah is attracting interest from Zambia. Kakamega Homeboyz striker Moses Shuamh has the advatage over Gor Mahia, Kenya Police and Tusker Big Wigs.

“We want people to know that important things are coming from here. It is not just Dynamos who are interested, even Zesco United want him and there is a team from South Africa. However, Dynamos are the ones who are the most serious,” he added.

Shumah has dealt with speculation over his future in the last two years and was reportedly close to leaving in 2023 with Gor Mahia among teams interested but the asking price was too high for Kenyan teams.

He stayed on and after a less prolific 2023-24 campaign, he has blossomed again under the guidance of coach Francis Baraza, who guided the team to an impressive third-place finish.

It remains to be seen if Dynamos will meet Homeboyz’s valuation of the in-demand striker who is also being courted by Kenyan clubs.
