Apart from Micho’s replacement, the federation is also looking for an assistant coach, goalkeeping trainer as well as a Strength and Conditioning coach.

FUFA has started the search for Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s replacement following his sacking Thursday.

On Saturday morning, the federation put out an advert calling for qualified persons to express their interest in managing the Uganda Cranes.

FUFA revealed: “The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) is the governing body of football in Uganda. FUFA is seeking competent and qualified technical personnel to fill vacant positions of the Uganda National Senior Team ‘A’-The Uganda Cranes.”

Apart from Micho’s replacement, the federation is also looking for an assistant coach, goalkeeping trainer as well as a Strength and Conditioning coach.

That would mean that Moses Basena, Micho’s assistant, has to re-apply in order to continue serving in that role.

“Jobs are open to Ugandans and Non-Ugandans while Coaches who have been holders of these positions are eligible to apply and these are full-time jobs,” the announcement added.

The application process will be open from September 16th to 22nd 2023.

FUFA will welcome Team and Individual applications from interested parties.

“Applications should indicate coaching qualifications and working experience.”

Micho, who signed a three-year contract in 2021, was fired after failing to qualify the Cranes for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Serbian is said to have been earning a monthly salary of $25,000 and other benefits, and it remains to be seen what sort of contract the next Cranes boss will get from the federation.

Uganda failed to qualify for AFCON 2023, making it two editions without appearing on Africa’s biggest football extravaganza.

With the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers starting in November, the federation will hope to zero in on a tactician much earlier to allow them ample time to plan.
