Defending champions Tusker have now strung three consecutive wins since losing to Gor Mahia.

The self declared lion of Kenyan football Robert Matano is ecstatic following Tusker FC's victory over stubborn coastal outfit Bandari on Wednesday evening.

The victory, coupled with leaders Gor Mahia's stuttering brought Tusker back into the title equation after K'Ogalo had earlier seemed to be romping to another league title unchallenged.

The tactician hopes his charges can sustain the winning streak that now stands at three games as club doctors clear the treatment room and give Matano more players to pick.

“We wanted to win and I am happy…not excited. We have really struggled with injuries because at some point we had stagnated but I’m happy with the progress. We want to work hard so that we can get more points,” he said.

He lauded the players for their good performance despite the injury setback. He added that they will be aiming for more wins going forward.

“I am happy with my boys,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bandari FC coach Anthony Kimani sighted loss of concentration among the players and wasting chances as their major undoing.

He added that Tusker FC were a better side considering the quality of players they had and how they played.

However, he appreciated the players for trying to equalise but things didn’t work out well for them.

“Tusker are a good side and they made it very difficult for us to play well. We go back home and see the areas to address,” he said.
