Christian Eriksen is also expected to be in United’s matchday squad after recovering quickly from an injury.

After narrowly beating Brentford in a Premier League midweek clash, Manchester United will host Everton on Saturday in search of vital points again.

Should they win the early kickoff, the Red Devils will extend their unbeaten home run to 24 games.

United got back to the top four following their victory over Brentford courtesy of Marcus Rashford’s strike, but credit must also be given to David de Gea for making crucial saves, especially one-on-ones against Kevin Schade.

On the other hand, Everton - after their 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur - are just above the relegation zone.

From four games against Nottingham Forest, Brentford, Chelsea, and Tottenham, the Toffees have registered a win and three draws as they continue to show some kind of stability and solidity under Sean Dyche.

A trip to Manchester, however, is another tough test for the Merseysiders.

Team News

After recovering from an ankle injury that had sidelined him since January, Eriksen is available for Erik ten Hag.

However, Luke Shaw will not be available as he suffered a thigh problem against Brentford, while Casemiro remains suspended. In Shaw’s absence, Tyrell Malacia can start on the left.

Alejandro Garnacho and Tom Heaton are out with ankle problems, and Donny van de Beek, who has a knee injury, are the others not available for Ten Hag.

For Everton, Andros Townsend is expected to be unavailable as he battles a knee injury while Dominic Calvert-Lewin struggles with a thigh problem.

However, Ruben Vinagre could be available after an Achilles injury kept him out of Everton’s last match.

What are the stats saying?

Manchester United have lost just one of their last 23 home Premier League matches (W15, D7), a 2-1 defeat by Brighton in August.

Marcus Rashford has scored 19 goals at Old Trafford this season, the most by a Red Devils player since Wayne Rooney also scored 19 in 2011-12.

United are one of only two teams who have not dropped a point from a winning position at home in the Premier League this season, along with Tottenham.

Everton have earned 12 points from their nine Premier League games under Sean Dyche, after accruing just five in their last nine under Frank Lampard.

Sean Dyche won 2-0 at Old Trafford with Burnley in January 2020. He could become the first English manager to win away against United in the Premier League with two different clubs.

Nigeria’s Alex Iwobi has won possession in the final third 26 times and created 47 chances this season - both career-bests for a single campaign.

Predicted line-ups:

Manchester United: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Malacia; Fred, Sabitzer, Antony, Fernandes, Rashford, Weghorst.

Everton: Pickford; Keane, Tarkowski, Godfrey, Coleman, Onana, Gueye, Mykolenko, Iwobi, Gray, McNeil
