Bruno Fernandes has described Man United as "the biggest club in the world" that has not got time for rebuilds as he prepares to lead them out for a new Premier League season.
Bruno Fernandes has issued a rallying cry ahead of Manchester United’s new campaign, insisting the club cannot afford to hide behind the idea of long-term “rebuilds.”
His comments come just days after Marcus Rashford — currently on loan at Barcelona — suggested on The Rest is Football podcast that United’s transition since Sir Alex Ferguson’s 2013 departure “never actually began.” Rashford argued the club’s lack of league success stems from the absence of a coherent, long-term plan.
“To start a transition, you need a plan and stick to it,” Rashford said. “We’ve had so many different managers, ideas, and strategies for winning that we’ve ended up in no man’s land.”

Benni McCarthy on Why Foreign-Based Players Will Still Get Priority in Harambee Stars Squad
Harambee Stars coach Benni McCarthy has shared why he feels it is still too early to cast aside foreign-based players for CHAN 2024 heroes.
In an interview with Australia’s Sydney Morning Herald, Fernandes appeared to push back against that notion, stressing urgency over patience.
Acknowledging the Past, Demanding Results
Reflecting on last season, which manager Ruben Amorim labelled “perhaps one of the worst” in United’s history, Fernandes was blunt:
“He wasn’t wrong. We’re all aware of that and nobody is satisfied. It’s difficult for him [Amorim] because he faces the press more often, and everything he says becomes a headline. If he said that without telling us how he feels, I’d be worried — but that’s not the case.”
Fernandes made it clear the demands at Old Trafford are immediate:
“Sometimes life is difficult. We have to deal with it. At Manchester United, time doesn’t exist — we have to do it now.”

PSG coach Luis Enrique was left feeling sad for Tottenham who dominated his team but ended up on the losing side in the UEFA Super Cup.
Eyes on Arsenal, Loyalty to United
Looking ahead to Sunday’s Premier League opener against Arsenal, the 30-year-old predicted a strong season and praised new signings Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko.
“Adding those three to what we already had will create great competition. Players will fight for their place,” he said. “We’re ready to face one of the strongest teams in recent years and will give it our best shot.”
Fernandes’ ambitions remain sky-high:

Kenya have been fined 12.8 million by CAF for crowd control issues witnessed at Kasarani Stadium during Harambee Stars' first three CHAN 2024 games.
“I want to win the Premier League, the Champions League — every competition I play in. But my focus now is Arsenal. Winning those three points gets me closer to my goals.”
He also revealed he turned down a lucrative move to Saudi side Al Hilal.
“It was a huge amount for the club and for me, but I never thought about leaving. I told their president I appreciated the call, but if United didn’t want to sell me, there was no decision to make. This is where I want to succeed.”
Concluding, the Portuguese star left no doubt about his commitment:
“I don’t regret staying. This is the place I want to be — and I want to be successful here.”
