Inter Raid Marseille for Latest Signing Before Club World Cup
Inter Milan is bolstering their squad and has officially announced the signing of winger Luiz Henrique from Marseille ahead of the Club World Cup.
The Brazilian is the second signing of the Milanese giants following midfielder Petar Sucic, and the Champions League finalists will be able to utilise him in the upcoming Club World Cup.
How Much is the Deal Worth?
The deal is worth €22 million, with an additional €3 million in potential bonuses, with Henrique signing the contract until the summer of 2030, earning €2.5 million per season.
Although primarily deployed as a winger at Marseille, the 24-year-old is expected to operate as a right wing-back for Inter Milan, competing with Denzel Dumfries for the starting spot.
He also possesses the ability to play on the left flank, and the Nerazzurri highlighted his pace and dribbling skills in their transfer announcement.
Luiz Henrique Breaks Silence
Luiz Henrique expressed excitement to have signed with Inter Milan, labelling it a big club and admitting that it is a huge step in his career. The youngster added that he is bubbling with excitement ahead of his debut and meeting with the other players.
"I would say my pace, technique and dribbling are my best qualities. I think everything changed because of my mental strength, and it was very important in many situations, for example, when I went back to Brazil before going back to France, starting to play again and making the fans happy. I think this was very important and now it is all paying off, with signing to a Club of this level," Henrique said as per the club's website.
He added that he has been following the Serie A from a young age and is aware of what to expect when he steps foot on the pitch. He added that it will be a great opportunity for him to learn the ropes.
Luiz Henrique added that there are many important players, ones that he looks up to, who have played at Inter Milan, and he added that it would be great if he continued that legacy.
"I hope we will make it as far as possible and that we will manage to win this competition that is starting soon. These are my expectations," he said concerning the Club World Cup.
During his nearly five years at Marseille, which included a loan spell at Botafogo, Luiz Henrique made 108 appearances, scoring 11 goals and providing 16 assists.
