Kenyan striker Vincent Oburu is close to joining South Africa Premier Soccer League outfit possibly on a long-term deal.

Kenya international Vincent Oburu is reported to be on the brink of joining South African footballing powerhouse Amazulu FC.

While the deal's official confirmation is still pending, various sources indicate that the move could be sealed as early as Tuesday, pending final contractual details.

The 25-year-old striker's impending move has been shrouded in speculation, but sources close to the negotiations suggest that the promising forward may be signing a two-year deal with Amazulu.

Oburu first made waves when he joined Zesco United on an initial six-month loan deal, which ultimately led to a permanent three-year contract in June 2022.

Before his stint with Zesco United, he honed his skills and gained valuable experience with Kenyan clubs Wazito and AFC Leopards.

His exceptional goal-scoring abilities and versatility as an attacking player have not gone unnoticed, making him a sought-after talent both domestically and internationally.

Amazulu fans will be hoping that Oburu will be the answer to filling the void left by Malawian international striker Gabadinho Mhango, who departed for Swallows at the beginning of the season.

The winger's addition is expected to provide a much-needed boost to Amazulu's attack, making them a formidable force to reckon with in the 2023/2024 Premier Soccer League (PSL) campaign.

A noteworthy detail in Oburu's football journey is his participation as a full Kenya international, as he was an integral part of the Harambee Stars team that clinched the 2017 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup title.

Amazulu currently find themselves in the 14th position in the league standings, having accumulated six points from their first five matches of the season.

However, they face a significant challenge, with a 12-point difference separating them from the table-topping Mamelodi Sundowns.
