Shabana coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo has put AFC Leopards on notice ahead of their FKF Cup Round of 16 clash in Kisumu on Sunday.

Shabana FC head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo feels form will count for nothing when his side take on AFC Leopards in the FKF Cup in Kisumu on Sunday March 31.

Pamzo’s charges face Leopards in the Round of 16 of the competition but head into the game on the back of a seven-match winless run, given they sailed through in the competition after a 4-2 win on post-match penalties, after a 1-1 stalemate against lower league side Shalimar.

Shabana have also lost their last four league matches, conceding 10 while scoring two, and take on a Leopards side that have tasted just one defeat in their last 10 encounters.

However, Pamzo is unfazed by the pedigree and form of Leopards and is also counting on the impact of the 12th man.

“We have more fans than Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards in Kenya and I know they will fill Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu. This is a knockout tournament and form does not count,” said Pamzo.

“We are in a good position to progress to the next round which is the only thing my players are looking at.

“After Leopards, now we can build from there because if you look at the way we played against them [in September], it was very good and I can say we did not even play our strongest team.”

Shabana and Leopards last met in September when the match ended 1-1 at a time both sides were going through a rough patch.

However, while Leopards have turned around their season, Tore Bobe are still in trouble and sit second from bottom on the FKF Premier League table.

Victory against Tomas Trucha’s men will therefore give the Glamour Boys the spring they need in their bid to avoid relegation with 10 league matches remaining.
