Fenerbahce, a Turkish football club, expressed their disappointment at the decision to prohibit their fans from attending their upcoming Super Lig match against Kayserispor on March 4.
The Kayseri Provincial Security Board cited security concerns as the reason for not allowing Fenerbahce supporters to enter the stadium, as reported by TRT News.
The club's fans had previously demonstrated against the Turkish government and called for its resignation during their home match against Konyaspor last Saturday.
The chants took place in the aftermath of the earthquakes that hit Turkey and Syria, claiming the lives of over 50,000 people.

The club expressed their surprise at the decision and stated that they do not accept it, as it has nothing to do with sporting criteria.
The club further claimed that the decision was punishing them and their fans for wanting to support the team.
"We have learned with surprise that our supporters will not be taken, in accordance with the Kayseri Provincial Security Council” a statement from Fernerbache read.
“As Fenerbahce Sports Club, it is in no way possible for us to accept this decision. It is a strange decision that has nothing to do with the sportive criteria," the statement added.
"It has no meaning other than hindering our fans' desire to support our team and punishing our club.”
"We want to know on what grounds our supporters have been deprived of this right in this sensitive period when it is expected to be unifying, integrative and not divisive."
The club is currently in second place in the league standings with 48 points, trailing behind the leaders Galatasaray by six points.
