Harambee Stars Captain Michael Olunga Close to Joining New Club After Ditching Al Duhail [REPORT]
Harambee Stars forward Michael Olunga is close to joining a new club after exiting Al Duhail in May.
Despite the buzz surrounding the deal, Azam FC has strongly denied receiving any formal approach from Yanga or any other club.
The club’s Information Manager, Thabit "Zaka Zakazi" Zacharia, maintained that the midfielder remains under contract and any potential suitors must follow the proper transfer procedures.
“Fei Toto is our player, under contract with Azam FC. No club has submitted an official offer,” Zacharia stated as quoted by The Citizen.
An anonymous Yanga official confirmed the agreement, stating, “We have signed a three-year deal with Fei Toto for the upcoming season. Financial details are confidential. The final step is to finalize discussions with Azam FC, mirroring the process they followed when acquiring him.”
Fei Toto’s contract with Azam FC reportedly includes a release clause of 500,000 (approximately TSh1.3 billion), which Yanga may have to trigger to complete the transfer.

The 25-year-old midfielder joined Yanga from Zanzibar’s JKU SC in 2018 and played a crucial role in the club’s resurgence before making a high-profile and controversial move to Azam FC in 2023.
