Eagles' striker Victor Osimhen is back to his best for SSC Napoli and was in red-hot form against Sassuolo in the Serie A.

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen showed his charitable side before destroying opponents Sassuolo with a ruthless goalscoring display in Napoli's big win in the Serie A.

Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that Osimhen was the star of the show after he inspired the defending champions to a comprehensive 6-1 Serie A rout of Sassuolo on Wednesday night.

Before his blistering fireworks, footage emerged on social media of Osimhen kindly helping ground staff repair the goal netting at Sassuolo's MAPEI Stadium.

But the Nigerian's good deed went unrewarded as he proceeded to rip apart the very same net by netting a sensational hat-trick in Napoli's demolition of their hosts.

Osimhen also grabbed an assist in a phenomenal individual performance as Napoli finally looked like Italian champions for the first time this season.

The 25-year-old has been in scintillating form since returning from AFCON 2023 duty with Nigeria, scoring five goals in just three matches.

Osimhen disappointingly only netted once at the AFCON finals as Nigerian Eagles reached the final before losing to Ivory Coast.

But back playing for Serie A holders Napoli, who missed his goals during the time in Cote d’Ivoire, the reigning African Footballer of the Year has shown no mercy as he makes up for lost time.

His latest goal glut against Sassuolo took his Serie A tally for the season to 11 as he looks to chase Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez for the Capocannoniere top scorer prize.

Osimhen may have started the evening generously fixing nets for struggling Sassuolo - but he ended it destroying those same nets and keeping Napoli's charge for a Champions League spot on track.
