Gor Mahia had lost and drawn the two games prior to their 1-0 win over City Stars thanks to Omala’s goal.

Gor Mahia striker Benson Omala has revealed how Gor Mahia managed to put behind their momentary lapse of bad games with a win against Nairobi City Stars last Saturday.

Omala scored the all-important goal against the Simba wa Nairobi in the fourth minute to give them all the three points and put them in a comfortable 10-point lead at the top of the table.

The striker himself had also gone through a bad run of form, having failed to find the back of the net, as well as having to overcome the challenge of failing to move to Algeria on an initial loan deal.

Now, Omala has revealed the reason why the club went through such a sticky situation.

“As a team in the last two games, we had been going through a bad run, a loss and a draw,” Omala said.

“As a unit, we have been working hard, just keeping our heads low and knowing we are number one, which means teams have been working hard to frustrate us.”

Omala has revealed the club’s ambition on a week-by-week basis.

“For us, we want to win our games, which is what has kept us up there, and it is something that we want to maintain going forward.”’
