The Gunners are expected to face transfer pressure this summer as Bayern Munich target a key first-team player in surprise move.

Bayern Munich are ramping up efforts to reinforce their attacking line this summer and have turned their attention to Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli, according to a fresh report from Germany.

The Bundesliga giants are said to be eyeing a major shake-up following their failure to land top target Florian Wirtz who now looks designated for Liverpool.

The Gunners forward, a regular under Mikel Arteta and a fan favourite at the Emirates, is reportedly one of five names on Bayern’s shortlist.

German outlet Bild, via journalist Christian Falk, claims Martinelli has emerged as a concrete option for Bayern, who are looking for versatile forward reinforcements ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

“This is my home,” Martinelli said in April as per Daily Mail.

“I love to be here. I love the club.”

Despite the Brazilian's public commitment to Arsenal, there are growing whispers that the North London outfit could be open to business for the right price.

Martinelli, who has 19 international caps, is one of several names being considered for a potential summer exit as Arsenal seek to balance their books and trim the squad.

Gunners Could Greenlight Summer Clear-Out

According to The Times, Arsenal are exploring ways to reduce their wage bill and increase financial flexibility for incoming transfers.

Martinelli’s name has reportedly surfaced alongside others such as Oleksandr Zinchenko, Reiss Nelson, Jakub Kiwior, Fabio Vieira and Albert Sambi Lokonga in what could become a significant clear-out.

Martinelli’s current deal runs until 2027, and The Athletic reports that Arsenal have the option to extend it by a further year.

However, if Bayern come forward with an offer exceeding £50 million, the Gunners hierarchy may be tempted to listen. Given that Martinelli arrived in 2019 from Brazilian side Ituano for just £5 million, such a deal would represent a massive return on investment.

Bayern’s Wider Transfer Net Includes Premier League Stars

Bayern’s interest in Martinelli is part of a broader scouting push that includes several high-profile names.

Liverpool duo Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo are also being monitored, while Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao is reportedly nearing a move to Barcelona.

The German champions are also tracking Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, a player who has already attracted interest from Chelsea.

Still, Martinelli offers a unique blend of speed, work rate, and positional flexibility that could fit Bayern's system seamlessly.

The Brazilian has made 225 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 51 goals and assisting 29 times, becoming a key figure in Arteta’s attacking setup.
