Gor Mahia draw 1-1 with Posta Rangers in a friendly encounter in Thika.

Gor Mahia drew 1-1 with Posta Rangers in a friendly encounter that took place at the MPESA Foundation Academy in Thika on Saturday morning.

Both sides were using the match to gauge their fitness especially considering they are not taking part in the FKF Round of 16 after being eliminated by Denmark FC and Kenya Police respectively during earlier stages of the competition.

After the game went scoreless going into the break,  Musa Masika scored the opening goal in the 51st minute to give the 20-time FKFPL champions the lead, but Posta Rangers would equalise in the 77th minute through Felix Oluoch to level the tie.

The friendly was used to give both sets of players a run of minutes considering they will not have played competitive football for three weeks by the time the league resumes next week.

Sharrif Musa and Benson Omalla were among those who featured for Gor after returning from international duty with Harambee Stars.

Gor remain perched at the top with 50 points, seven better than second-placed Tusker FC. Bandari are third with 43 points but with an inferior goal difference than the brewers.

Posta, who had started the league on fire, are fifth with 39 points. Gor Mahia will be facing bogey side Kakamega Homeboyz in Machakos in their next encounter, while Posta will play Shabana.
