Indonesia has hijacked the schedule with her own plans for games in Jakarta.

Kenya's international friendlies with Burundi may be cancelled after the Indonesia Football Federation announced that they would play against Itamba mu Rugamba on the same dates.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) announced that the Harambee Stars would play Burundi in Nairobi on March 25th and 28th, 2023.

Indonesia had been reported to have also invited Kenya to Indonesia, but talks with international match makers representing the two sides fell through.

On Saturday, the Indonesia FA announced that they would play Burundi on March 25 and 28 in Jakarta.

"After waiting until tonight, finally PSSI has decided that the Indonesian national team will play Burundi and they are ready to come to Indonesia," said Indonesia FA chairman Erick Thohir.

Last month, FKF announced the friendly matches against Burundi, saying they are the initial step in rebuilding the team and getting them ready for competitive international soccer.

On his part Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat stated that the two matches would sharpen the team’s skills.

Firat has promised to compile a stellar roster of players in the upcoming friendlies.

According to the Turkish tactician, the list will comprise five foreign-based players who have never donned the Harambee Stars jersey.
