FOOTBALL Done deal: Kenya Police finally announce first midseason signing

Since parting ways with Greece side AEL Omar in 2022,the defender has been unattached.

Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Kenya Police FC have finally confirmed the capture of Harambee Stars defender Aboud Omar.

The 30-year-old left Greece Super League outfit Athlitiki Enosi Larissa last summer after just one season with the club.

Omar has been training with Kenya Police FC for the past few weeks, and now they have unveiled him in an eye-catching announcement video.

Omar started his football career in 2010 at coastal Kenya side Admiral who later loaned him to Bandari FC in early 2011.

In June 2013, Omar joined Tusker FC, where he stayed for two years before being signed by Greece outfit Panegialios in a six-month deal.

He then switched to Slavia Sofia, where he played for two seasons before joining the top Belgian side Cercle Brugge in 2018.

In 2019, he joined the Romanian side Sepsi SG where he only played eight games before parting ways with the club.

The defender then returned to Greece, where he signed for PAE Ionikos before being snapped up by Athlitiki Enosi Larissa.

Omar received his first national team call-up in July 2013 before making his debut against Eswatini in the 2013 Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Cup tournament.

He has since made 43 appearances for the national team and was part of the Harambee Stars squad in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
