In their Game Three on Saturday night, the varsity side shocked the bankers 70-40 to achieve a 3-0 series win since they had defeated them in Games One and Two.

Zetech Sparks' 3-0 win over Equity Bank Hawks is motivation enough for the young squad ahead of their clash with defending champions KPA ladies in Kenya Basketball Federation Premier League final.

In their Game Three on Saturday night, the varsity side shocked the bankers 70-40 to achieve a 3-0 series win since they had defeated them in Games One and Two.

This is the first time the young squad has made it to the final. Last season, they were close to making it to the final but were unfortunately knocked out in the semifinal by Equity.

“This win has given the girls a lot of confidence and I know when they head to the final, they will definitely play a good game. Even in the final, we shall give KPA a run for their money. This is a very huge achievement since it is our first time in the final and we are really happy,” Coach Maurice Obilo remarked

He also lauded the youngsters for their impressive show at the Nyayo National Stadium. He specifically pointed out trailblazing Madina Okot who was one of the key players who enabled them to improve their scoring by contributing 20 points.

Chantal Kiyobae was also a key player in their win as she contributed 25 points in the highly contested game.

“Getting Madina into our squad was a very big boost for us since she filled the gap of the point guard,” he said.

Meeting KPA in the final will not be a walk in the park since the dockers are an experienced side who have ended the season unbeaten. Obilo is aware of their capability and has promised to go back to the drawing board and train Zetech extensively.

“Definitely we are going to work on our weak areas. As Zetech, we will neve back off and we are going to give our all,” he said.
