After a frantic seventh day of action at the 2025 World Athletic Champions in Tokyo, Japan on Friday, attention shifts to the penultimate day on Saturday.
Five finals were witnessed on Friday when Femke Bol and Noah Lyles retained their 400m hurdles and men’s 200m titles while Melissa Jefferson-Wooden became the first sprinter to claim a double of both 100m and 200m.
The nine-day event will enter Day Eight on Saturday September 20, when six finals are lined up, and for Kenya, there is a chance to win more gold medals as they have Faith Kipyegon, Beatrice Chebet and Agnes Jebet Ngetich in the 5,000m final and Emmanuel Wanyonyi in the men’s 800m final.
