Olympic champion Julien Alfred has insisted that she is not done yet despite being unbeaten so far this season.

Julien Alfred expressed dissatisfaction with her performance, noting that she expected to improve her season-best time, but things did not go as planned.

The Saint Lucien sprinter revealed that the weather in Zagreb was quite unforgiving, adding that she was used to competing in warm conditions.

Alfred noted that finishing the race healthy is what matters the most, allowing her to run faster in her next competitions.

“I was hoping to run a bit faster, to be honest. But it is not about time, it is a long season, and we are still in May. My first time in Zagreb. The weather is a bit cold, I did not expect it to be like that when coming to Croatia,” Julien Alfred revealed after the race.

“I do not like the cold at all, because it is very hot in Austin right now, so the difference is big. But I have to work with what I have. However, at least I am healthy and the whole season is ahead, so I take that.”

The 23-year-old added that there are several things she needs to work on in the 200m after competing in two races so far this season.

Julien Alfred has yet to compete in her first 100m of the season, and fans cannot wait to see what she has in store for them.

She disclosed that her main goal this season will be to have fun as she prepares for the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan.

“For the next races, I just need to run the first 150, try to hold on, that is what I learned. I do not think I am quite there yet,” Julien Alfred said.

“I am still working on it. It feels amazing to represent my small country. This sport is not as big as cricket or football, but I hope it is really growing. We have a couple of good athletes coming up.

“But we also have a lot who were coming before me, like Lavern Spencer, though she has never won the Olympics, she was also somebody I heard growing up.”

Julien Alfred now shifts focus to her next competition, having been confirmed for the Diamond League Meetings in Oslo and Stockholm.
