This will mark the third edition of the event and the organisers promised to work around the clock to ensure that everything is on course.

The race has been known to cultivate several great runners who have represented the country in global events and did exemplary well.

A good example is Patrick Kipng’eno who has been a frequent appearance in the World Athletics Mountain Running World Cup.

The Kenyan won the second edition of the local event, clocking 56:21.51 to cut the tape ahead of Josephat Kiprotich who finished second in 57:22.38. Hillary Maiyo completed the podium after clocking 57:36.09.

Kipng'eno has used that experience to shine globally and he even went ahead to win the gold at the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships that were held in Innsbruck-Stubai, Austria in June last year.
