The triple World champion had a great start off the blocks and flew through to the finish line, beating his closest challenger by 0.02 seconds.

The American’s focus is now on the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix meet in Boston scheduled for Sunday, February 4 where he will clash with some of the top sprinters.

One of his notable opponents will be former World 100m champion Fred Kerley who will be seeking redemption this season after a poor run last year.

Kerley failed to defend his World Championships title at the global bonanza in Budapest, Hungary, and made few appearances in events. This year, he targets the Olympic Games in Paris, France, and preparations have already begun.

As for Lyles, he enjoyed an amazing 2023 season and he intends to build up on that and enjoy the 2024 season even more. His journey in 2023 began in Boston, where he blazed through the 60 meters with a jaw-dropping personal best time of 6.51 seconds.

The season also saw Lyles achieve a stunning feat at the World Championships where he swept both the 100 and 200m titles, establishing himself as the undisputed king of sprinting on the global stage.

Lyles did not stop there as he played a pivotal role in guiding the US 4x100m men’s relay team to victory contributing a breathtaking personal best of 9.83 seconds in the 100 meters.

Meanwhile, this event is a crucial fixture in the World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold series and will promise thrilling performances from the best in track and field. Overall tour winners $10,000 and a guaranteed spot at the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland in March.
