Faith Kipyegon, Beatrice Chebet, Sha’Carri Richardson, and Noah Lyles are among the stars who now know when their Diamond League battles will unfold in 2026, with the calendar largely unchanged.

The schedule for the 2026 Wanda Diamond League season has been officially confirmed, with the global athletics series set to kick off in Doha on May 8 and conclude with a two-day final in Brussels from September 4 to 5.

Following a mixed 2025, where some of the world's top athletes broke world records while others struggled to make a chance, an opportunity has been presented for redemption next season.

Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon and Beatrice Chebet, who broke world records, American sprint star Sha’Carri Richardson, and Noah Lyles will once again compete across four continents in the 17th season of track and field's premier one-day circuit.

As in previous editions, athletes will accumulate points across 14 meetings in a bid to secure a spot at the season finale in Brussels, where they will vie for the prestigious Diamond Trophy.

The 2026 campaign begins with a three-stop tour of Asia, starting with the season opener in Doha. The series then moves to China for consecutive meetings in Shanghai and Xiamen.

On May 31, the league will make its African stop in Rabat before heading to Europe with a meeting in Rome. The European leg continues with events in Stockholm, Oslo, and Paris.

The world’s elite, including Faith Kipyegon and Beatrice Chebet, both expected to dominate the middle and long-distance events, will then travel to the US West Coast for the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene on July 4, a venue that has witnessed five world records in the last three seasons.

The series returns to Europe for high-profile meetings in Monaco and London, where Sha’Carri Richardson and Noah Lyles are likely to feature in some of the season’s most anticipated sprint showdowns.

The final push for qualification points will take place in August, with stops in Lausanne, Silesia, and Zurich before the season's best athletes gather in Brussels for the Wanda Diamond League Final.

2026 Diamond League: A Truly Global Stage

With no Olympic Games or World Championships scheduled for 2026, the Diamond Trophy will be one of the most coveted global titles in athletics.

The series continues to expand its worldwide presence, having attracted 400,000 spectators and a broadcast audience across 170 countries in 2025.

Faith Kipyegon, who dominated the 1500m and mile in 2025, will be aiming to defend her Diamond League crown, while Beatrice Chebet looks to extend her reign in the 5000m after an exceptional season.

On the sprint side, Sha’Carri Richardson is expected to headline the women’s 100m and 200m battles, while Noah Lyles will seek to make history as he targets a record-equalling seventh Diamond Trophy.

The 2026 season promises another year of world-class performances, thrilling rivalries, and unforgettable moments from some of the sport’s brightest stars.
