Ferdinand Omanyala has shared enlightening words of advice with his younger brother, Isaac Omurwa.

Youngster Isaac Omurwa, Ferdinand Omanyala’s younger brother, might just be the next big thing when it comes to sprints in the world of athletics.

However, before he gets to the global stage, Omanyala has a few insights to share with Omurwa, who just began his career early this year.

Omanyala encouraged his brother to just be himself and take a day at a time despite the challenges and pressures he is bound to encounter.

Speaking to Pulse Sports Kenya, Omanyala said: “I just want him to build up and be patient…he should not want to be like me and he should strive to be like himself.”

Omurwa made his international debut at the African U20 Championships where he finished sixth in the final, clocking 10.71 to cross the finish line. He then competed in the 200m race where he finished fourth in the final.

Omurwa then proceeded to the National Championships where he was unfortunately knocked out in the semi-final, finishing in 10.79. He also participated in the men’s 4x100m relay where his team finished fourth.

During the World Championships National Trials, the 19-year-old finished fifth in the men’s 100m final to miss out on the ticket to the World Championships. As he enjoys his off-season, Omurwa will be eyeing the Olympic Games in Paris, France.
