Gout Gout's manager opens up about what training with Noah Lyles entails.

Gout Gout's manager James Templeton has opened up about what it means to train with Olympic 100m champion Noah Lyles.

Templeton acknowledged that Gout training with the American recently was a step up in his career as the teenager learnt plenty of things in a bid to achieve elite status.

"Noah is the ultimate professional and he is the best at everything. Every drill and every lift in the gym, he was the best. His technique was the best and he sought perfection in everything he did," Templeton told the Weekend Grandstand.

Templeton said Noah Lyles demanded 100 percent in training and any half-hearted attempt was met with a thorough dressdown.

"He was very exacting in his demands on his training partners, so if someone did something in a sloppy way he'd be barking at them from 50m away. There was one interesting one where Gout's training partner Jon Kasiano eased off in one 50 just before the line and Noah shouted at him, 'Jonathan, no easing off. Easing off is for losers. You do it properly.

"And we all loved that. That's Noah the ultimate pro, and that's a great example for Gout — the guy who's the best is not sitting back and resting on his talent."

Gout Gout trained with Noah Lyles for two weeks in Florida. The training camp took place at the National Training Centre in Clermont, Florida, as part of his sponsorship deal with Adidas, the same brand that backs Lyles.

Gout also appeared on Lyles' podcast, Beyond the Records, which he co-hosts with Grant Holloway and Rai Benjamin, promising to challenge Noah Lyles at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo.
