Zaniolo to lawyer up against AS Roma
Nicolo Zaniolo has alerted his lawyers in preparation for a possible legal war against Roma as the battle between the two parties continues.
Zaniolo has been embroiled in a battle with Roma since he asked to leave the club last month.
Zaniolo's war with Roma
The 23-year-old requested to leave the club last month, making himself available for selection.
Although Roma accepted Zaniolo’s request, I Giallorossi placed a €40 million price tag on his services.
AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur showed interest in his services, but they could not meet Roma’s valuation.
Roma, however, received a suitable offer from Bournemouth and were ready to sell, but Zaniolo rejected The Cherries.
Reports claimed Zaniolo was only looking to eave for a top club and not one fighting to avoid relegation.
Roma feel betrayed
However, Zaniolo’s decision not to accept Bournemouth’s offer infuriated Roma, who subsequently froze him out of the squad.
The capital club were disappointed after Zaniolo failed to leave the club as it prevented them from signing a replacement since the 23-year-old is unlikely to play for the club again.
It now appears the Italy international is unhappy with the way the club portrayed him during this process and he is ready to sue the club for emotional and psychological damage.
According to Italian Football News, Zaniolo has already alerted his lawyers and he is considering taking legal action against the club.
The decision comes after reports also claim Roma are considering taking legal action against the youngster and also not paying him during the period he is away from the first team.
Zaniolo has been with Roma since 2018, with his contract not expiring until the summer of 2024.
