'We deserved a different result' - Amorim claims Man United were the better team
Manchester United were defeated by Arsenal on the opening day of the Premier League season at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils were the best team on the pitch but fell to a narrow 1-0 loss to Mikel Arteta's men on Sunday.
What Amorim said
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim spoke after his team's narrow 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in the opening round of the English Premier League.
"I can't fault the lads. I'm truly proud – we played bravely in every aspect of the game. We deserved a different result because we were the better team on the pitch.
"We have to continue working in this direction. We lost the match, but we proved we can beat anyone in the Premier League," Amorim said, as reported b Sportal.
The manager also commented on the goalkeeping situation. "Onana hasn't been dropped from the squad and is still in contention. Tom and Altay performed excellently during pre-season. I'm happy with all three of our goalkeepers," Amorim added.
The Red Devils will visit Fulham in the next round, missing out on European club competitions this year.
