The Muhoroni-based outfit fell 2-0 to fellow strugglers Talanta in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League match on Sunday.

But the experienced gaffer blamed the state of the pitch for his team's disappointing performance.

"The boys played their part, but the pitch was wet and slippery, and it counted against us as we could not play our typical football game.

Whenever my boys tried to make a move they could slide and lose the ball. Then after the first goal, the boys got demoralized," said Odera.

The former APS Bomet coach added that their approach to the game against Talanta failed to work well and admitted that the opponents gave them a tough challenge.

"Our opponents' style of play did not favor us, but we are going to rectify the mistakes we made ahead of our next game," he added.

Wazito host Nzoia Sugar FC on Wednesday at the Muhoroni Stadium in a game they will need to win in their quest to get out of the relegation zone.
