WATCH: Gazelles’ Abby Priscilla gears up for new college basketball season

Uganda’s basketball standout and Gazelles star, Abby Priscilla, is leaving nothing to chance as she eagerly anticipates the upcoming college basketball season.

Currently enlisted with Grayson College in the United States under a basketball scholarship program, the determined shooting guard is all set to commence her second year—a chapter she denotes as ‘personal’ through a series of tweets shared this Friday.

“Year two is personal, #15 special number, Hungry for more,” read the enthusiastic tweets.

Priscilla will share the court with fellow countrywoman Diana Letaru, a recent enrollee at Grayson College from KIU Rangers.

Grayson College Women’s Basketball team is scheduled to kick-start their 2023 non-conference schedule with a match against Paris Junior College on 1st November, set to be held on their home ground.

Abby Priscilla emphasised her presence in the Gazelles team in the Afrobasket Women 2023 tournament held in Kigali, Rwanda.

Delivering stellar performances, she propelled the team to exceed expectations, securing a commendable 7th-place finish.

Marking a historic moment at the tournament, the Ugandan team, under the direction of Alberto Antuna, clinched victories against African powerhouses Senegal, Mozambique, and DR. Congo, only to face defeat in the quarter-finals against the host, Rwanda.

The Gazelles’ noteworthy strides at Afrobasket Women 2023 have catapulted them 23 places up in the FIBA Women’s Basketball rankings, positioning them 9th on the continent and 57th worldwide, accumulating 127.9 points.
