Usain Bolt cautions rising star Gout Gout on budding career
Sprint legend Usain Bolt also offered a word of caution to Australian teenage sensation Gout Gout, who has drawn comparisons to the Jamaican icon.
While acknowledging the 17-year-old's immense talent, Bolt emphasized that transitioning from junior to senior competition is a significant challenge.
"It's always easier when you're younger... but the transition to senior from junior is always tougher," he noted in a recent interview.
"It's all about if you get the right coach, the right people around you, if you're focused enough," the Jamaican icon added. "There will be a lot of factors to determine if he's going to be great."
A 39-year-old veteran of the sport expressed his support for emerging talents like Gout, highlighting the importance of new athletes making their mark.
"He's very talented, with the times he's running now and really been doing well," he remarked, acknowledging the young athlete's impressive performances.
Gout made his world championships debut in Tokyo last month, where he qualified for the 200m semifinal.
