Manchester United are reportedly set to sanction Alejandro Garnacho's departure from the club, despite his commendable on-field contributions last season.

Matheus Cunha, a summer signing and former Wolves player, is viewed as a potential replacement for Garnacho, as he is considered a better fit for Amorim's tactical system.

The Argentina international, who scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists across all competitions in 2024-25, has recently garnered headlines for his controversial actions off the pitch.

Alejandro Garnacho is reportedly unwanted by Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim.

Garnacho faced criticism for posing in a Marcus Rashford Aston Villa shirt and has reportedly had a significant bust-up with Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim.

Ex-Liverpool comments on Garnacho’s future

The winger’s relationship with the manager may be beyond repair, prompting former Liverpool midfielder. Danny Murphy to suggest that the Red Devils may have to let the youngster leave Old Trafford.

“If the finances are right, and United are that desperate to get rid, Garnacho’s a younger talent and someone will feel they can rein him in because he’s got a lot about him on the pitch,” Murphy said on talkSPORT

“I like him football wise.” 

The 20-year-old's last goal contribution for the Red Devils came in May against Brentford.
